The RCGC mens section has 610 playing members, with over 200 regularly playing in weekend competitions. Along with these, there are plenty of other things to get involved with, including:

* Friendly matches (played on a Sunday afternoon)
* HSB League matches (played on a Tuesday evening)
* County 7’s matches (knockout vs other Hampshire clubs)
* Gales Hockley matches (Over 50’s)
* Summer foursomes (within the club)
* Winter fourball (within the club)
Our Ladies Section is very friendly and new members, whatever their ability, are always made to feel welcome. We have an excellent mentoring system where the Mentor will tailor the support required to each person’s individual needs & preference. All new members receive a Welcome Book which is packed with information about the Ladies Section and the club.
Our main competition day for Ladies is Wednesday, with an alternate day (generally with booked tee times) on a Saturday or occasionally a Sunday. For every 18-hole qualifier we try to ensure a 9-hole qualifier is run, enabling everyone to play competitively for many years.
We have over 30 Trophy Competitions throughout the year alongside many ‘fun’ competitions. There are Summer & Winter Knockout competitions, Ladies & Mixed which are popular. Our Club Championship is a 36-hole, scratch competition over one day, with other nett prizes available. We also have several competitions that are open to ALL club members, such as
Club AGM & Arnold Trophy. The club have also set up a ‘mid-week stableford’ competition which again is open to men & women.
The Ladies Section enters teams in several well-established national & county competitions such as the Stoneham Cup, Hayling Trophy, Legg Bowl and North Hants Trophy. The County Delegate actively encourages the Ladies to enter the many and various County Competitions run by the
Hampshire Ladies Golf (HLG – https://hampshireladiesgolf.com)
The annual Ladies Captain Day is a great fun day of golf followed by a meal and drinks in the Club House afterwards. There are also many events for all, such as the Annual Coffee Morning, & the Christmas Lunch.
The club holds both internal and open events for golfing couples. These are added to by at least a dozen friendly matches. This creates the opportunity to host visitors and to travel and play a number of courses of the same high standard as RCGC.
Historically many clubs apply a principle of life partners not playing together in these matches. At Rowlands, couples play together and any single golfer wishing to play mixed golf will be found a golfing partner for the day by the organisers.
To round off the season, one of the most popular events takes place, an American Greensomes Day, which attracts almost a hundred players. Followed by a carvery, prizes and medals!
The Seniors Section of Rowlands Castle Golf Club was formed in 1968 and celebrated the 50 Year Anniversary in 2018. Friendly and sociable with some 190 + members (aged 60+) the Section has a busy and varied golfing calendar every year.
Between April and October members have the opportunity to play in 38+ friendly inter-club home and away matches against some of the best clubs in the region including Blackmoor, Farnham , The Army, & Worthing.
Also members of the Section get together amongst themselves, and individually enters teams in Seniors Open competitions in Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
Members can play in a comprehensive schedule of 9/18-hole Stableford Qualifiers throughout the year from mid-February to mid-November in addition to Matchplay, Greensomes and Strokeplay events.
The Seniors Annual 36-hole Club Championship takes place over two days in one week in June.
In addition there are several midweek roll-up groups, scrambles and mixed events to suit players of all levels.
Social activities include an Annual Ladies Dinner Evening in April, a Social evening in October where the winners of Cup competitions receive their trophies and the AGM/Dinner Evening in December. All are very popular and well supported.
Rowlands Castle Golf Club has a well-established, active and successful juniors’ section for under 18 year olds.
Our juniors are encouraged and supported to gain proficiency at golf, as well as learning golf rules and etiquette.
Each year, our juniors’ section activities include:
* A local league team (playing 10 matches)
* Two countywide knockout competition teams
* 10 internal trophy competitions and 10 winter stablefords
* A 36-hole Junior Club Championship
* A 36-hole Junior Masters open competition
* A Bring & Buy fundraising event
We have superb facilities – a challenging 18-hole course, large practice ground with three par-3 holes and a dedicated Junior Clubhouse.
Free coaching is available – our professional runs group sessions for juniors in the spring and autumn. Informal ‘Get into Golf’ sessions take place on Sunday mornings, with improvers sessions held on Sunday afternoons.
Our juniors are allowed to enter adult competitions on achieving an acceptable standard of playing ability (Boys: 18 handicap - Girls: 36 handicap).
Some of our junior members have progressed to golf scholarships in the USA, while others have become professional golfers.
